Retail Sales Associate

Job Summary:

The food truck aficionados at Off the Grid are looking for part-time Retail Sales Associate to sell and promote Off the Grid products and clothing at specific Off the Grid Market locations. The Retail Sales Associate embodies the identity of Off the Grid in appearance, engaging demeanor, customer relationship values, and passion for the community we build.  As a visible representative of Off the Grid, the Retail Sales Associate connects with our market guests to promote Off the Grid retail brand products.

We are looking for a dependable, trustworthy, and outgoing people who are available weekday evenings starting at 4pm, and on weekends starting at 10am. Candidates must have previous retail experience and must enjoy interacting with a high volume of customers, have great customer service skills and a positive attitude. This is a part-time job offering 15-25 hours a week.

You must be able to work the following part-time retail schedule:

Thursday from 4pm-10pm

Friday from 4pm-12pm

Sunday from 10am-5pm

You may also be required to work other shifts throughout the week, depending on the growing retail needs at other OtG markets.

This is a great starting position for someone with 2-4 years of Retail Experience potential for other opportunities at our growing company.

Responsibilities:

Job Requirements:

• Work independently with little or no supervision

• Able to travel to OtG markets and OtG main office for training or other scheduled events

• Valid CA Driver’s License and clean driving record

Mobile Market Ambassador

Job Summary:

Your friendly neighborhood food truck aficionados at Off the Grid are looking for part-time Mobile Market Ambassadors to ensure our market events are set up, taken down and run seamlessly. As a visible representative of Off the Grid, the Ambassador engages market guests, supports our food truck vendors and helps make sure the location is safe, clean and a happy place to be.

As a member of the Market Staff, you would work the hours and days of our weekly markets. A typical schedule may be 3:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m., three to five days a week, including one to two weekend days.

This is a great starting position with Off the Grid with potential for other opportunities at our growing company.

Responsibilities:

• Market Setup and Teardown – drive or co-pilot Off the Grid trucks to/from event site, aid in unloading/loading, setting up/ taking down tables/chairs, displays, lights, garbage/recycling, electrical supply, ensuring location is spotless upon departure

• Food Truck Vendor Relations– provide support as needed, ensure they are one of the family while helping to provide the best service to our customers

• OtG Brand Ambassador  – greet, welcome and thank guests, provide information as needed, go the extra mile for guests; represent our brand with pride, role modeling our values, standards and foodie-passion

• Safety Monitoring – remove any obstacles and potential dangers, help keep areas clean and debris free

• Market Operations- oversee entrance/exit, welcome and thank guests, ensure clean and inviting market space

 

Job Requirements:

• Must have reliable transportation and a clean driving record

• Must enjoy working outside and in a team environment

• Available to work evenings and weekends on a regular basis

Hands-on Event Crew Member

 Off the Grid is looking for energetic and hardworking Event Crew Members to help with the seamless onsite execution of our largest-scale weekly mobile markets.

If you enjoy working outdoors, are great with a drill, have experience with general labor, are comfortable with driving a truck, and are capable of lifting up to 50lbs, this is the position for you!

Responsibilities:  

• Complete the setup and break down of tables/chairs, tents, displays, lights, garbage/recycling and electrical supply in an organized and collaborative manner

• Maintain and inventory all event, production, and storage equipment

• Execute an efficient and organized event layout to maintain a strict timeline for each event.

• Adhere to safety procedures, removing any obstacles and potential dangers from the event space

• Care for and ensure proper treatment of equipment and materials

• Expertly operate trucks and forklifts with care

• Diagnose and solve problems quickly and efficiently

• Represent Off the Grid with professional, friendly interaction with our vendors, co-workers and the public and demonstrate leadership by implementing OtG’s policies and procedures

Requirements:  

• CA driver’s license with clean driving record

• Commercial truck driving experience a plus

• Forklift certification, preferred

• Strong sense of urgency and ability to adhere to a timeline

• Self-starter and multi-tasker who can manage simultaneous projects

• Strong problem-solving skills

Job Summary:

Off the Grid is in search of an amazing Full Time Controller for our ever-growing enterprise. The successful applicant will be diligent, extremely detail oriented, and interested in seeking ways to improve financial processes within a dynamic organization. This is a hands-on role that will require all of the day-to-day Accounting functions, as well as take the lead of financial responsibilities

 

Job Description

• Daily operational accounting:

* Prepare all monthly, quarterly, and year end close financial statements, schedules and          supporting entries

* Supervise direct reports

* Cash management of numerous accounts and activity

• Prepare and create standard and ad hoc reports relating to monthly financial statements.

• Prepare for and manage external requests by our CPA and lending institutions

• Provide and manage areas such as billing, cash receipts, collections, insurance, payroll, commissions and accounts payable.

• Provide insight and analytical review through the development of budgets, forecasts and variance reports.  Develop and publish key operating metrics

• Governmental compliance (city, county, state and federal filings and taxes)

• Collaborate with non-financial employees to complete company projects and objectives.

 

Job Qualifications:

• CPA preferred

• 5+ years progressive accounting and financial experience

• Experience as a supervisor/manager

• Excel proficient, advanced use of formulas and complex spreadsheets required

• Knowledge of GAAP and all applicable accounting rules and regulations

• Degree with emphasis in Finance or Accounting

• Excellent Oral and Written communication skills

Marketing Manager

The principal responsibility of the Marketing Manager is to promote and manage Off the Grid’s various channels of activities including markets, special events, and community activities. The Marketing Manager is the brand owner of and responsible for social media communication, onsite marketing communication, and public communication to the press and municipal areas that OtG serves. This role builds marketing plans for each new location, executes collateral needs, oversees graphic and visual design, oversees and manages all company PR, manages all online and social media, works with community partners surrounding each market/event, and collaborates with OtG management about ways to keep each market relevant.

 

Job Description:

• Oversee and evolve our weekly newsletter.

• Create an effective social media strategy that incorporates tools to centralize multiple communication platforms, trains/manage staff on social media guidelines, and create a plan to grow and better leverage social media platforms.

• Manage brand experience at Markets to improve customer experience and reinforce Off the Grid brand value-add

• Manage brand experience at Special Events to Improve both Customer and Client Brand Experience

• Establish Publicity Plan for Market Rollouts

• Create and Implement marketing ideas to raise awareness of existing markets.

• Create, develop, market and execute key brand partnerships.

• Participate in vendor outreach for event activities

• Position the Off the Grid brand for regional and national growth

• Manage, develop and create brand collateral for event and promotional use

• Participate in the content and development of both web and app development for both customer and vendor use.

• Act as the Off the Grid ambassador for industry events and activities

• Act as the Off the Grid representative for Press Events

• Act as an Off the Grid representative for municipal and community support and engagement

Job Qualifications:

• Experience: 2-3 years of experience required, with 4-6 years preferred; or the equivalent combination of education and experience

• Sales, Events and Managerial Experience a must

• Deep experience with Social Media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Yelp.

• Experience project managing 3rd party graphic & web designers

• Experience with Web Design a plus

• Maintain the highest standard of conduct, professionalism, and appearance at all times in representing the company

Off the Grid is looking for a part-time Junior Graphic Designer to help further Off the Grid’s brand. We are growing company and are in search of a hardworking, creative, and detail oriented designer to add to our expanding team.

 

Responsibilities:

Able to design marketing assets, visual responses for events and markets, and promotional material for everything Off The Grid.

• Collaborate with the marketing team for weekly posts

• Assist the Graphic Designer with duties, as needed

• Brainstorm and execute special projects to expand your portfolio

 

Job Requirements:

Must be fluent in Photoshop, Illustrator & InDesign

Must possess excellent typography skills

Writing / blogging skills are a plus

• Basic HTML/CSS and Dreamweaver knowledge a plus

• Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or related field

 

Required Hours:

• Must be available to come to the office at least 4 days a week, 5 hours per day, plus be able to work on assignments outside of office hours, as needed

 

Compensation:
